ESEA Re-Authorization

Senate Passes Every Child Achieves Act

On July 16, 2015 the Senate passed the Every Child Achieves Act (ECAA) replacing No Child Left Behind by an overwhelming bi-partisan vote of 81 to 17.  Click here to see how YOUR Senator voted.   Since the House has already passed quite a different version i.e. The Student Success Act, the next step will involve members from the House and Senate to meet together as a Conference Committee to try to reconcile the 2 different versions of the bill (which could be quite the process!)    Read more in NEA Today  article, see EdWeek's comparison of the 2 bills  and watch SSWAA for more updates and details as time goes on.
